MEETING INFORMATION Informal meetings occur occasionally at the discretion of active members. CLUB HISTORY -- Paul Heaney The New York Electric Auto Association was founded 20 APR 93 by Joan Heaney. Original founding members include: Joan Heaney, Director; Sterling Dean, Asst. Director; Javier Pabalan, Education and Technology; Gerald Foster, Public Relations; plus Bill LaBine, Al Turof, Alan Blood, Robert Snell, Fred Miller and Paul Heaney. Many of the founding members owned or were building electric powered cars or trucks. The GOAL of the club was established, "To stimulate interest in Electric Vehicles from an ecological and financial standpoint." This has been revised: "NYSEAA is dedicated to promoting the use of alternative energy vehicles. Educating its members and the public about alternative energy vehicles and supporting infrastructure. Sharing member skills and assisting its members while constructing alternative energy vehicles." The OBJECTIVES are: To act as a clearing house of information for the members and other organizations on the developments in the electric auto technology. To encourage experimentation in building of electric autos by individuals. To promote and organize public exhibits of such vehicles in order to inform the public on the progress in this area. To publish technical material helpful in construction of electric autos. ----------------------------------- |
